Why facebook/social Media for your crafting wares


If you have a business of ANY kind, chances are high that you’ve got a facebook page to go along with it.  If you don’t, you definitely should look into it.  By having a facebook page, you increase your following, and therefore increase your sales.  Here are a few reasons *why* you need to have a facebook page to begin with:

 –Facebook allows you to contact your community every day and remind them of your presence.

Social Networking helps your branding.

-Facebook makes it very easy to pass good content around.

-Stats:

•Facebook has more than 845 million active users (as of December 2011)

•50% of active users log on to Facebook in any given day

•Average user spends more than 55 minutes per day on Facebook

-It’s free to make, maintain, and use!

Alright, now that I’ve touched on different reasons to have a facebook page to begin with, you might want to consider a few ways to get people to “like” this page.  What are some incentives to get people to check out your page, AND stay around, AND be active participants of your brand?

– There is fan-exclusive content (only fans can view/purchase)

-Provide feed-back and get heard for your opinions

Opportunity to get to know me as a person

-Participation in contests to get FREE crafting products

Coupons and discounts

-Introduction to other great pages

-Hear others’ opinions about me and my craft products

Social Media can be a great asset to your business.  To ANY business, but especially for a crafting business.  It’s a great way to build your brand and show the world what sort of marvelous crafts you can make.  You can also let them know how much you care about your work, and you aren’t just another crafter out there.
